Good article – I want one but got to wait until my current contract runs out.

I think the idea of it behaving like a little computer is great for us geekazoids, as long as the functionality is disguised behind a friendly and seamless interface. Then non-techy who get this phone on a contract without knowing what it does will never need to know, and won’t accidentally find themselves wiping their address books and deleting the internet while trying to install the Big Brother app.

Some really good points there, and your definately right about “it just works”

My housemate and my fiancée got Desires recently and work got my a 3GS. My housemate and I are both gadget lovers and it’s funny because if I were to do it again I’d go android and he said he’d go iPhone

After using both OSs for a while for me it basically comes down to
    iOS – locked down polish
Android – open to everyone (but with a UI and look and feel to match)

Thanks for your comments! It’s true iOS is more polished, and I was going to talk about aesthetics because it’s often cited that Android is a bit ugly and rough, but to be honest I find a lot of iOS’s embellishments to often be rather twee and in some ways less ‘futuristic’ than Android. Hmmmm maybe a future post!
